Exploring the Social Studies Curriculum

March 28, 2018 - 4:30 pm

March 28, 2018 - 7:00 pm

Please join us for an opportunity to learn more about the Revised Social Studies Curriculum (2013). In this workshop we will investigate the various units of study through participating in hands-on activities. Investigate how the Thinking Concepts of Social Studies, Student Inquiry and the Citizen Education Framework help create a program
where students are actively engaged in their learning and will come to understand the BIG IDEAS connected to each unit. We will also analysis artifacts to discover the stories of our past and how these artifacts have transformed through the decades. Lastly we will explore lessons that are cross-curricular in nature, and focus on critical thinking. Hope you will join us.
