Join us for a fun and engaging evening with HDSB’s Early Years Lead, Kelly-Ann Mattiacci as we explore how best to engage our youngest learners in an outdoors environment. A growing body of research indicates how learning outdoors can improve cognitive functioning, reduce student (and educator) stress, increase academic performance, improve creativity and social skills and, most importantly, ignite a sense of wonder. Join us for an after school workshop that will explore the benefits of getting children outside and some activities that you can use with your class. This session will run from 4:30-7:30 and will include a dinner. Please dress for the weather conditions that day. A portion of this session is spent outside and we will be going out rain or shine!
*Please note this workshop is being held at Alexander’s Public School and we will be meeting in the library*
