Our next professional learning event will be a Math workshop titled From Counting to Additive Reasoning.  It will be held via Zoom on Monday May 17, from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

This workshop will be presented by Melanie Goncalves, HDSB Instructional Program Leader.

How do we support the development of students’ mathematical thinking?  We will explore a continuum of key ideas and strategies for addition and subtraction, leveraging concrete manipulatives, visual models, and a variety of problem types to reinforce these foundational concepts and skills.

Please note that this event is ONLY open to Halton Elementary Occasional Teachers (either daily OTs or LTOs).

If you can make a FIRM COMMITMENT to attending, please register at this link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/pl-event-math-workshop-from-counting-to-additive-reasoning-tickets-325284473617

If you need to cancel, please notify Nicole D’Angelo at dangelon@hdsb.ca, a minimum of 48 hours before the event, so that someone on the waitlist has a chance to participate.

If you are a no show, you will be charged a $10 fee to cover costs incurred on your behalf.  Once it has been paid, you will again be allowed to attend future HEOT events.

You will be asked to sign into Zoom at 4:50 p.m. for a start time of 5:00 p.m.

Eventbrite messages will be sent to the email address you use for registration (please enter it carefully!).  These emails will contain important information and reminders about the workshop.  Please make sure to check your junk folder, just in case, and scroll down to read all of the details.

A Zoom link will also be sent to you the day of the workshop for easier access to the session, which will not be recorded.

Thanks and we are looking forward to learning with you!
